The following are tips for instrument care from the shop of master repairman Joe Sites.

Tip 1 - Always remember to loosen your bow when you put it back in the case.
Tip 2 - Clean the rosin off your violin with a small brush each time you finish playing.
Tip 3 - Remember to keep an eye on your bridge so that it does not lean forward after continuous tuning with the pegs.

Bow Re-hairing

Violin $30.00 Cello $35.00

Viola $32.50 Bass $40.00

Tune-up - $30.00--Includes cleaning, polishing, overall inspection of instrument and minor adjustment.

New Bridge and Set-Up - $35.00

New Sound Post - $20.00

Fine Tuners - $40.00--Includes four fine tuners and installation.

String Installation -$7.50 -- Includes installation and peg lubrication with peg dope. Fixes most slipping or sticky pegs.

New nut or saddle - $20.00 each

Rebush pegs - $30.00 per peg, plus cost of peg

Peg Replacement - $10.00 per peg, plus cost of peg

Tail gut replacement - $10.00 plus parts

Repair Involving removal of top plate - minimum $100.00 removal fee plus general rate for repair.

General Repair -- Shop Rate $65.00 per hour

Note - Prices for repair shown above are for violin only. Repairs and adjustments on violas, cellos and basses are priced separately.
